Booking Conditions
DEPOSIT:
In order to hold space permanently, a deposit of A$1185.00 per person for all sailings except Trans Atlantic which is A$825.00 (which includes A$110 (inc GST) Administration Fee per person) is required at our office by the "Option Due Date" on the confirmation invoice or the cruise will automatically cancel. If the optional Cancellation Fee Waiver is required, it MUST BE PAID AT THE TIME OF DEPOSIT.
FINAL PAYMENT:
Final payment is due in our office 100 days prior to passenger's departure date from Australia. As Windstar prices are in US dollars, the cost of the booking is converted into Australian dollars using the Bank Selling Rate on the day that final payment is made. The A$ deposit amount is subtracted from the total amount owing.
ADMINSTRATION AND AMENDMENT FEE:
We charge an A$110 per person administration fee (inc. GST) on all cancellations made after the confirmation. This fee is paid with the deposit and deducted from the final balance. Please note, this fee is charged regardless of whether the Cancellation Protection Plan is taken out. An Amendment fee of AUD$25.00 per person (plus GST) will apply to any additional modification requested after the original booking has been made and confirmed.
CANCELLATION PROTECTION PLAN (CPP):
The CPP allows you for any reason, to provide written cancellation up to 24 hours prior to scheduled cruise or tour departure and receive a refund equal to 80% of the applicable cancellation fee. Payment is a 6% of the tariff cost. CPP IS OPTIONAL, MUST BE PAID AT THE TIME OF DEPOSIT and IS NON-REFUNDABLE. CPP is NOT insurance. In addition, Windstar automatically assumes an additional US$500 of liability for lost, damaged or delayed baggage of passengers who purchase CPP still subject however, to the limitations in our baggage policies. For example, it does not protect double-triple-quad occupancy rates should one or more members of your party cancel, nor does it cover expenses or unused services due to trip interruption. Refer to the Terms and Conditions in the Windstar Cruises 2004 brochure for more details.
CANCELLATIONS:
Regardless of reason, cancellations and transfers result in a costly process of letters, record adjustments, etc. To offset these expenses, the following assessments will apply whether or not a client is rebooked on another tour;
- Cancellations 90 - 60 days prior to departure: equals amount of the deposit paid
- Cancellations 59 - 30 days prior to departure: equals 50% of gross fare incl NDA
- Cancellations 29-0 days prior to departure: equals 100% of gross fare incl NDA
- NDA Definition: Was previously know as Port Charges which Holland America Line can no longer call Port Charges and are now known as Non-Discountable Amount or NDA.
Given that the resale of cancelled space will result in a lost opportunity to sell other space, these fees are due regardless of resale. CANCELLATION PENALTIES WILL NOT BE WAIVED, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
DOCUMENTS:
Cruise documents are prepared in the USA, and will be sent to you approximately 14 days prior to departure of cruise. It is most important that the reservation be made in the passport name of the passengers. If name changes are required after documents have been issued, a fee of A$100 per person will be charged for reissue.
