Day 1    CAPE TOWN

Disembark the ship and be treated to a half-day city orientation of Cape Town (known as the Mother City). A wonderful mix of cultures and languages gives Cape Town a strong cosmopolitan feel, evident in the different architectural styles. Follow Adderley Street through the city’s center, viewing such notable buildings as the 17th century Castle of Good Hope, the City Hall where Nelson Mandela gave his liberation speech and the Groote Kerk. Take a stroll along The Company’s Gardens established in 1652. Visit the South African Museum, exhibiting the natural history of South Africa. Weather permitting; you’ll ascend by cable car to the top of Table Mountain and marvel at breathtaking views of the city and its beaches. Proceed to your hotel by way of Bo-Kaap, home to the descendants of Malay slaves. Your hotel is the Cape Grace awarded Best Hotel in Africa. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore this beautiful city with all its fabulous sights, excellent shopping and many fine restaurants.

Day 2    CAPE TOWN / JOHANNESBURG / LONDOLOZI

Following breakfast this morning, transfer to Cape Town airport for your flight to Johannesburg. A light snack will be served on the plane. At Johannesburg transfer to your flight to Londolozi, located within Kruger National Park. On arrival, transfer to Londolozi Private Game Reserve, well known throughout the world as one of Africa’s finest game lodges. Lunch will be served at the Lodge on arrival. After lunch you will have time to settle into your rooms or perhaps relax by the pool with a cool drink. You will meet your ranger before the afternoon game drive. Mid-afternoon tea is served on the camp deck. Then you are off to explore the magic of the wilderness. As day turns into night, hippos call to each other from the various dams and the bush reveals its dark side. Smaller nocturnal animals show themselves. Return to camp for a mouth-watering dinner. Retire early to prepare yourself for the dawn wake-up call and the adventurous day ahead of you.

Day 3    LONDOLOZI

After your early wake-up call, coffee and tea are served and you set off in open Landrovers to explore all that the African wilderness has to offer. Under expert guidance, a new world unfolds. Birds reveal themselves in abundance. Further out large herds of general game – impala, wildebeest, zebra, warthogs (with their tails in the air) and giraffe moving gracefully cross the horizon. Sightings of some (or all!) of the Big Five are common. There is the chance that you will encounter a herd of buffalo or a “crash” of white rhino. With your minds full of the sights and sounds of Africa, return to the camp to satisfy your appetite with a hearty breakfast. Enjoy some time for yourself before lunch. Relax by the pool or take advantage of a bush walk to explore from a different perspective. After lunch, you have free time until the nocturnal sounds signal it’s time for a night drive.

Day 4    LONDOLOZI / JOHANNESBURG

Early next morning, a knock at your door signals that the last morning game drive is about to begin. Before you leave on your game drive, tea, coffee and biscuits will be served on the deck. Take full advantage of this last opportunity to experience the wonders of the African wilderness. Return to the camp for brunch, followed by your transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
You will be met at the airport where your stored luggage will be returned and you will be transferred to the Michelangelo Hotel for check in. The majestic Michelangelo, towering over the heart of Johannesburg’s Sandton Square is the perfect vantage from which to observe the entertainment and corporate capital of Africa. The Hotel is in close proximity to a medley of activities; art galleries, game parks, botanical parks and gardens, arts and crafts, diamond-cutting works, mine museums and historical monuments. Within comfortable walking distance are the shopping and entertainment facilities of the area. Enjoy your day at leisure.

Day 5    JOHANNESBURG

This morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. In the late afternoon you will be transferred to the Johannesburg airport for your flight home.
