The Hidden Kingdoms of Nepal
Offered in conjunction with our India Journey
Explore a land of legend, royalty and natural wonders. A late morning flight transports you from Delhi to Kathmandu. Tour the city's fascinating bazaars and temples before visiting Swayambhunath, the famous 2,000-year old Buddhist Stupa. Next day, flight-see the majestic Himalayas and Mt. Everest. Later, visit the medieval city of Bhadagon with its Palace of 55 Windows; gaze at richly ornamented Pashupatinath Temple, a World Heritage site; and visit Bodhnath Stupa. Next morning, fly to Royal Chitwan National Park, former hunting grounds of royalty. Orient yourself with an afternoon canoe ride down the Rapti River, home to rare Gharial crocodiles. Tomorrow, go on an early morning game run, atop an elephant, in search of elusive Royal Bengal tigers. Return to Delhi for an afternoon tour.
