Travel 53 miles of the Denali Park Road on a Tundra Wilderness Tour . Take in the scenery from taiga forest to sub-arctic tundra and marvel at one spectacular sight after another. From Healy Ridge and Savage River to Polychrome Pass and Stony Hill Overlook, where Mt. McKinley is just 36 miles away, you'll be in constant awe. And keep a look out for caribou, moose, Dall sheep, grizzly and numerous small mammals and birds. Later, re-board the domed railcars of the McKinley Explorer for the continuation of your rail journey. Arrive at your downtown Fairbanks hotel to begin your two-night stay. |

Your EXTRA DAY in Fairbanks offers numerous adventures - lunch included. Start your adventure on a cruise aboard the sternwheeler Discovery III. You?ll watch a bush pilot demonstration and meet Susan Butcher of Iditarod fame, or members of her family, at her sled dog kennel.
