Anchorage/Denali National Park
Today you'll board the McKinley Explorer , the largest domed railcars on the historic Alaska Railroad route, an Alaska Scenic Byway. Sit back and relax in the observation lounge and watch magnificent scenery glide by. Upon arrival at the Denali National Park , transfer to your lodge, unpack and explore. Or opt for a night of music and barbeque at the optional Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre.

Denali National Park
Your EXTRA DAY at Denali is designed to let you craft your own wilderness experience with one or more organized tours. Horseback riding is peaceful and quiet, flightseeing lets you see Alaska as few get to do, and you can fly fish, golf, explore the backcountry by jeep, or journey into the past aboard a covered wagon. These are the kinds of experiences that make your stay in Denali truly memorable!
4
Denali/Fairbanks
Travel 53 miles of the Denali Park Road on a Tundra Wilderness Tour . Take in the scenery from taiga forest to sub-arctic tundra and marvel at one spectacular sight after another. From Healy Ridge and Savage River to Polychrome Pass and Stony Hill Overlook, where Mt. McKinley is just 36 miles away, you'll be in constant awe. And keep a look out for caribou, moose, Dall sheep, grizzly and numerous small mammals and birds. Later, re-board the domed railcars of the McKinley Explorer for the continuation of your rail journey. Arrive at your downtown Fairbanks hotel to begin your two-night stay.
5
Fairbanks
Your EXTRA DAY in Fairbanks offers numerous adventures - lunch included. Start your adventure on a cruise aboard the sternwheeler Discovery III. You'll learn about the Alaskan lifestyle as you visit a replicated native village and view crafts, a fishwheel in action and a dogsled demonstration. You?ll watch a bush pilot demonstration and meet Susan Butcher of Iditarod fame, or members of her family, at her sled dog kennel. At Gold Dredge No. 8, you'll browse the mining exhibits and pan for gold during your informative tour. Enjoy a second night's stay in Fairbanks .
6
Fairbanks/Anchorage
This morning you'll transfer to the Fairbanks airport and fly to Anchorage . Here you'll board a luxury motor coach for the scenic drive along the Seward Highway , an Alaska Scenic Byway, to arrive at the picturesque town of Seward where you'll say "good-bye" to your Tour Director and board your waiting ship.

College Fjord Scenic Cruising
While spending a relaxing morning at sea, enter Prince William Sound to the only place in Alaska that surrounds you on all sides with flowing rivers of ice, named after the leading Ivy League colleges.
8
Glacier Bay National Park scenic cruising
This is Alaska 's number-one glacier experience. Cruise from the Reid and Lamplugh glaciers to the mighty Johns Hopkins - surrounded by rugged peaks and sheltering a seal pupping ground. Linger for a full hour at the Grand Pacific and Margerie glaciers while a National Park Service Ranger shares insights into the park's history and wildlife. And a Huna Totem native speaker will join the ship to impart the legend and lore of this sacred place.
