Just as on Princess' larger vessels, Coral Princess has three distinctive show lounges, but with one added dimension. The two-story interactive aft lounge is technologically equipped to offer full television production capabilities and high-definition projection. Known as the Universe Lounge, this special area features décor inspired by Jules Verne's classic tale '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,' and sports three revolving stages. The lounge will also be home to a new 'ScholarShip at Sea' program, including enrichment courses on cooking, photography, ceramics, visual arts, computers, and other fun and informative classes.
The ships' Personal Choice Dining lineup is comprised of two main dining rooms, along with the popular Sabatini's Italian trattoria. New to the program is the Bayou Café, the first New Orleans-style restaurant at sea offering Cajun specialties and live jazz music that captures the unique spirit of Bourbon Street. The ship also features Princess' 24-hour restaurant, the Horizon Court, and ‘round-the-clock room service. In addition, passengers will find a variety of new gathering places, including a cigar lounge with its own humidor, plus a 1960s retro martini bar -- both firsts for Princess. Meanwhile, many passenger favorites are in evidence, with some new twists. The Wheelhouse Bar will be home to a museum of P&O memorabilia, while Explorers Lounge, a lively spot aboard Grand Princess-class ships, will continue the adventure with décor that celebrates the essence of Egypt, Morocco and Bali. As on the line's largest ships, this new vessel also offers a wedding chapel, a nine-hole putting course, a 24-hour AOL Internet Café, and an extensive children's centre. Aboard Coral Princess, passengers will note a number of special themes -- including London-style décor in the casino and the soothing feeling of Bali in the Lotus Spa. In addition to the expanded interior space, guests will have more opportunities to enjoy Alaska's breathtaking scenery without leaving their staterooms. Nearly 90 percent of the ships' cabins are outside, and most of these feature a private balcony -- a Princess hallmark. Coral Princess features an innovative power generation technology -- a gas turbine/diesel engine combination, with the gas turbines placed in the ships' funnels. This configuration is not only environmentally advantageous but also allows for the additional space inside the ship that provides for the expanded passenger facilities. | Ship Information | | Ship Details | | Year built | 2003 | | Registry | Bermuda | | Tonnage | 92 000 | | Length | 964 feet | | Beam | 122 feet | | Passenger capacity | 1970 | | Crew size | 900 | | Total inside cabins | 108 | | Total outside cabins | 879 | | Cabin/suites with verandas | 727 | | Wheelchair-access cabins | Yes | | Dinner seatings | Personal Choice | | Dining hours | Personal Choice | | Dining room dress code | Smart Casual.
